MU Online Season 11 and the Buried Kingdom of Ferea

Create a free account What's new in Season 22

MU Online Season 11 is remembered for Ferea, a kingdom lost under the Tarkan desert that the global service opened to characters level 400 and up. The season also added Dark Angel, the second mastery armor set, and Blood Angel weapons, the first mastery weapons. Its second part went to comfort: camera zoom, a hunting log and, on the global service, seed spheres that can be upgraded to level 10. No new class came with it. Season 11 sits between the Grow Lancer's debut in Season X and the 4th class change of Season 12, and its map and armor set are still in the Season 22 files.

Is Season XI the same as Season 11?

Yes. The Korean press wrote it as Season11, while Webzen's global service kept the Roman numerals it had used for Season X and called it Season XI. The content was broadly the same, but the calendar was not: Korea played each part first, and global players waited about four months for Part 1 and six for Part 2.

Some online timelines put the Korean start about a week earlier than the Korean press reported it, which is why Part 1 is dated by month here.

What is Ferea in MU Online?

Ferea is the map Season 11 is built around. In the Korean story it was a kingdom that sank beneath the Tarkan desert when Kundun returned, and was then forgotten. Its monsters are meant for parties rather than solo hunters: Ferea Knights, Archers and Fighters make up most of the map, the much sturdier Ferea Generals stand among them, and the Lord of Ferea is the boss.

What level do you need for Ferea?

Level 400. Webzen's Season XI announcement set that entry level for the global service, which placed Ferea in the master-level part of the game. Excellent Dark Angel armor pieces dropped there, so the map paid out gear as well as experience. Our leveling spots guide shows where Ferea sits among the maps past level 400, and the master level guide explains the leveling that starts at 400.

IGCN's stock Season 22 data still lists Ferea as map 112, so the kingdom is part of the files a Season 22 server starts from.

What is the Dark Angel set in MU Online?

It is the second mastery armor set, and it arrived when mastery gear was only one season old. Season X Part 2 had introduced the first set, Blood Angel, in Korea, together with Ruud, the currency earned in event maps and spent at Priest James's shop. Season 11 added the second armor tier and started the weapon side:

The ladder kept climbing. Season 12 added Holy Angel armor and Dark Angel weapons, Season 13 brought Awakening Soul armor and Holy Angel weapons, and Season 14 reached Frost Blue Eye. Our mastery gear guide follows the line from Blood Angel to Imperial, and the Ruud guide covers the currency behind it.

What changed in Season 11 Part 2?

Part 2's headline changes were about everyday play:

These socket changes are documented for the global service in November 2016; when Korea received them is unclear. The socket guide covers how seed spheres fit into socket gear.

Are there Season 11 private servers?

Season 11 is a rare label. Private servers are usually known by the server files they run, and the mid-era versions that keep turning up in public file releases are Season 8, Season 9.5, Season 12 Episode 2, Season 13 and Season 16. Season 11 is not among them: what circulates of it is mostly a client rather than a full server package.

Its content carried on anyway. Ferea and the Dark Angel line are part of the later versions, the stock Season 22 files included.
