MU Online Season 10 and the Grow Lancer's Real Debut
MU Online Season 10, released by Webzen as Season X, is the season the Grow Lancer joined the game. She was MU's eighth class, and Korean press called her Webzen's first new character in four years. Season X also opened Nars, Acheron's fifth region, and started the gear ladder modern MU still climbs, with the Ruud currency and the first Mastery armor. Its final part added Skill Imprint and the Errtel of Radiance.

When was the Grow Lancer added to MU Online?
In Season X Part 1. The Korean service added her in late August 2014, and Webzen said concurrent users rose by more than 30% and new sign-ups more than tripled over the first four days. Global players got her on April 7, 2015, when Season X Parts 1 and 2 arrived together, about seven months after Korea.
How does the Grow Lancer fight?
She fights up close with a lance in one hand and a shield in the other, and both Strength and Agility feed her damage. Webzen's Grow Lancer guide describes two directions: Strength for heavier hits in hunting and PvP, and Agility for faster attacks and elemental damage. The guide also credits her with high defense and better elemental resistance than the rest of the roster. Her kit, as that guide lists it:
- Attacks: Spin Step, Harsh Strike, Magic Pin, Breche and Shining Peak.
- Buffs: Obsidian lifts the skill damage of her party, Wrath gives up defense for more damage, and Circle Shield works only against players, where it can drain a rival's AG.
- Siege: Clash rams a target and knocks enemies back.
You can only create her once your account has a character past level 200, and on Webzen's service she starts in Lorencia. Her next class is the Mirage Lancer, the name used by both Webzen's guide and IGCN's files, and she was the third female class after the Elf and the Summoner. For Season 22 builds, see the Grow Lancer class page and the Grow Lancer guide.
How did Season X start MU's modern gear ladder?
Part 2 (Korea December 16, 2014; global April 7, 2015) added a currency and an armor tier that work together:
- Earn Ruud. Event maps hand out Mastery Boxes, and the Ruud inside is a currency of its own.
- Spend it at one shop. Ruud only works at Priest James's Ruud shop. In Korea it bought sealed pieces of mastery sets.
- Wear Blood Angel. Korean coverage describes the first Mastery set as gear for level-400 characters past their 3rd class change, in normal, excellent and set versions, with normal pieces dropping in Debenter and Urk Mountain and excellent ones in Nars. Webzen's global release does not name the set; it only says the Ruud shop sells new Season X items.
- Keep climbing. The next seasons each added a tier: Dark Angel in Season 11, Holy Angel in Season 12, Awakening Soul in Season 13 and Frost Blue Eye in Season 14.
The Ruud guide and the mastery gear guide cover how this ladder works on Season 22. IGCN's Season 22 files still include the Ruud shop and mastery item crafting.
What are Nars and Event Map Square?
Nars, Acheron's fifth region
You reach Nars through a gate in a safe zone, and like the rest of Acheron it runs on elements: its regular monsters and its bosses all carry one. The boss, Core Magrifi (Core Magriffy on the global service and in IGCN's files), drops a mount-type Muun, and on the global service pentagrams as well. IGCN's Season 22 map list still includes Nars.
Event Map Square
Event Map Square put the event entrances in one plaza: Blood Castle, Devil Square and Chaos Castle from the early years, plus Illusion Temple, Doppelganger and Imperial Guardian. Webzen's guide adds that you warp there from the move window and that Priest James keeps his Ruud shop on the square, so event runs and Ruud spending happen in one place. The event schedule guide explains how event timing works today.
Other changes in Parts 1 and 2
In Korea, Part 1 raised the master level cap from 350 to 370 and added new skills to every master tree. Both services also got Tormented Square (Battle), a second mode of the event; in Webzen's global description, Chaos Goblins show up there at random and hand out bonus EXP and rare items. Webzen's global guide also lists new Muun abilities: extra EXP or Zen, lower repair costs and elemental damage or defense.
What did Season X Part 3 add?
Part 3 (Korea late May 2015; global September 1, 2015) was an elemental update built on the pentagram system from Season 7:
- Skill Imprint. Skills gained elements. You imprint chosen skills, and an imprinted skill hits harder when its element matches your pentagram's.
- Errtel of Radiance. A fifth Errtel of the highest grade, which sits in a pentagram's fifth slot. That slot has to be unlocked first; Webzen's global release names an Expansion Scroll of Radiance Slot for the job.
- Level 800. The global cap rose to 800: 400 normal plus 400 master levels.
- Drops. Korean press reported that some items became limited to specific hunting grounds, and that some monsters began dropping excellent versions of the gear they wear.
The Pentagram and Errtel guide covers the Errtel of Radiance on Season 22.
Is Season X still part of MU Online?
Yes. The Grow Lancer is still playable among Season 22's 16 classes and got a renewal in Season 19. Nars, the Ruud shop, mastery crafting and the Errtel of Radiance are all still in IGCN's Season 22 data. Only the numbers look small now: the global Season X stopped at level 800, while the Season 22 Part 1-1 package goes up to 1800.
