MU Online Season 22 and the Class Combat Renewal

Create a free account SilverMU test realm news

MU Online Season 22 is the season of the class combat renewal. Its first update, Part 1-1, went live on the Korean service on September 15, 2026 and changed how the Dark Knight, Rage Fighter and Slayer deal damage, with the knight-type Magic Gladiator pulled into the same rework. Part 1-1 brings no new class and no new map. Instead, those four classes got new or reworked attack power types, retuned skills and reworked skill trees, and every player got a clearer Hunting Record.

Webzen's global service does not have Season 22 yet, but private servers can already run it: IGCN, which makes the server files many private servers use, announced its Season 22 Part 1-1 files on October 6, 2026. SilverMU runs that version and is in its testing phase. One thing to know before you compare servers: a Season 22 private server on IGCN's files runs Part 1-1 for now. You get the renewed classes on top of the Season 21 endgame, but not the Arcana Archive or the level 1850 cap that Korea added in Part 1-2.

Season 22 at a glance

When did MU Online Season 22 come out?

The Season 22 release date depends on where you play. Like most MU seasons it started in Korea: Part 1-1 went live there on September 15, 2026, and Part 1-2 followed four weeks later. IGCN announced its server files for private servers in between, while the global service has not started the season at all.

Global serviceNot yet (Nov 2026)Still on Season 21-1

The global service is further behind than the missing Season 22 suggests. Webzen's international service calls its current season Season 21-1, and its latest part went live on September 1, 2026 with the Elite Zone of the Sanctuary of Aquilas. Global still lacks the second half of the Korean Season 21, including Raklion of Oblivion, the Rhino guardian and the level 1800 cap. Season 21 needed about ten months to travel from Korea (September 2025) to the global service (July 2026), but that is history, not a schedule: as of November 3, 2026, the global patch notes contain no Season 22 content.

For every season from 97d onward, see our MU Online season history. The season this one builds on is covered in MU Online Season 21.

What changed in MU Online Season 22 Part 1-1?

Part 1-1 is a combat patch. Four classes were rebuilt around new damage rules, and on the Korean service their stats, master skills and skill-enhancement trees were reset so players could rebuild from scratch. Many of their skills also had their damage, mana or AG cost, range or hit count retuned. IGCN's Season 22 Part 1-1 announcement lists the same renewal for its server files. Everything else in the update is smaller: a clearer Hunting Record and a few additions in IGCN's files.

The new attack power types, in plain words

Until Season 22, Dark Knight and Slayer skills drew on a percentage bonus called Skill Attack Power (%). Part 1-1 removes that bonus for both classes and gives each one an attack power type of its own, whose value rises with the character's stats. The Magic Gladiator and the Rage Fighter follow the same idea:

In practice, each of these classes now has a damage line built for it that grows with your stat build. A build planned for the old formulas is worth rechecking before you spend points, and our stats guide covers what each stat does. Season 21 did the same for other classes, with Gale for the Elf, Chaos for the Magic Gladiator and Illusion for the Illusion Knight.

Dark Knight: Fire Blow replaces Death Stab in the master tree

The Dark Knight has the longest list of changes. Fire Blow becomes a regular skill: it loses its old extra-damage setting, hits a wider area and needs 1,090 Strength. In the master tree, the Death Stab Strengthener, Proficiency and Mastery entries are gone, replaced by Fire Blow Strengthener and Fire Blow Mastery, and Sword Blow now unlocks after 10 points in Fire Blow Mastery.

Two buffs got quicker: Swell Life and Sword's Fury cast faster, and Swell Life now lasts one hour. Add the new Rage attack power and the loss of the Skill Attack Power (%) bonus, and a Death Stab build from Season 21 needs a fresh plan. The Dark Knight guide covers the class basics.

Rage Fighter: Area, Divine and Melee reworked

The Rage Fighter's damage is split three ways, and Season 22 reworks all three. IGCN's Season 22 server data shows which skills use which type: Dark Side draws on both Area and Divine attack power, Dragon Roar and Dragon Slasher on Divine, and Killing Blow, Beast Uppercut, Chain Drive, Charge, Phoenix Shot and Spirit Hook on Melee. That mapping comes from the formula notes in IGCN's files, not from the Korean patch notes.

Dark Side is the skill with the most changes. Points spent on its master-tree enhancements now raise its damage, the way it applies damage was improved, and the debuffs it can carry from the skill-enhancement tree are now Bleeding and Freeze. The Rage Fighter's maximum attack speed changed too. The Rage Fighter guide covers the class itself.

Slayer: Darkness attack power and a wider Pierce Attack

The Slayer trades the Skill Attack Power (%) bonus for Darkness attack power. Pierce Attack now covers a wider area, its skill-enhancement debuffs became Freeze and Bleeding, and the Slayer's maximum attack speed changed along with the Dark Knight's and the Rage Fighter's. Our Slayer guide covers the class basics.

Magic Gladiator: Crusher Charge becomes the switch

The knight-type Magic Gladiator was not in IGCN's headline trio, but it gets a real change. Fighting Spirit attack power only applies while Crusher Charge is active, and with that buff up, Chaos Blade and Ice Blood reach a range of 6. Keeping Crusher Charge running is now part of the damage plan. See the Magic Gladiator guide for builds.

Weapons, attack speed and the 4th Skill Tree

What does Season 22 change for the other classes?

The other twelve classes get no renewal of their own in Part 1-1. Four changes reach every character instead: one from the Korean patch and three listed in IGCN's notes for its server files.

Hunting Record: Base EXP and Bonus EXP

Open the Hunting Record in Season 22 and your EXP comes in two lines. Base EXP is the plain amount hunting pays at 100%. Bonus EXP is the extra that items, events and buffs stack on top. The real-time record splits its per-second figure the same way, and the line that used to read EXP Gained is renamed Total EXP Gained. You earn exactly what you did before. The difference is that you can now check what an EXP item, a buff or an event weekend really adds.

Quests up to level 1800

IGCN's Part 1-1 files extend the quest system to level 1800, which is also the level cap of that package: 400 normal levels plus 1400 master levels. The Korean service has since moved on to 1850 with Part 1-2. Our master level guide explains how leveling works past 400.

MU Helper hunting areas in Aquila's Temple

Aquila's Temple, the level 1600 hunting ground that Season 21 opened in Kanturu Ruins (Sanctuary of Aquilas on the global service), gets MU Helper hunting-area entrances in IGCN's files, so the helper's hunting-area system now covers the temple as well.

A new monster movement system, as a test feature

The most technical addition is IGCN's new monster movement system. It ships as a test feature and is switched off by default, so a server has to turn it on. If a server does, four things change in play:

Whether a server uses it is that server's choice. SilverMU will announce its final settings in the news before launch.

Season 22 Part 1-1 vs Part 1-2: why there is no Arcana Archive yet

Korean part numbers read as Part 1, 1st update (1-1) and Part 1, 2nd update (1-2). Some English coverage calls the second one Season 22 Part 2, but it is the same update. The Korean Part 1-2 went live on October 13, 2026 and added:

None of this is in IGCN's Season 22 Part 1-1 package (22.1.1.0): it has no Arcana Archive, no Specter monsters and a level cap of 1800. Servers on IGCN's files will get these additions only with a later IGCN release. What Part 1-1 does carry is the Season 21 endgame it builds on: the Crusader, Imperial gear, Aquila's Temple, Raklion of Oblivion, the Rhino guardian and the 9th mastery earrings.

Which classes are in MU Online Season 22?

All 16: Dark Knight, Dark Wizard, Elf, Magic Gladiator, Dark Lord, Summoner, Rage Fighter, Grow Lancer, Rune Wizard, Slayer, Gun Crusher, Light Wizard, Lemuria Mage, Illusion Knight, Alchemist and Crusader. Webzen uses different names for a few of them, such as White Wizard for the Light Wizard and Rune Mage for the Rune Wizard. The Crusader, a hammer-and-shield knight of the light god Lugard, joined in Season 21 and is still the newest class. Every class has its own page in our class section.

Season 22 and the client: steady 25 FPS or 60+ FPS

IGCN made two client announcements in the same month as its Season 22 files. On October 27, 2026 it released a performance update for the classic client of its Season 21 Part 2-3 and Season 22 Part 1-1 packages: the client now holds its 25 FPS ceiling in busy scenes, with only brief dips in the most crowded sieges. We explain it in MU Online FPS drops in Castle Siege. On October 30, 2026 IGCN introduced a separate high-performance client on the Unity 6 engine that runs at 60+ FPS, which each server can license as an option; see MU Online at 60 FPS.

On SilverMU you get the first of the two: our client uses IGCN's updated classic client, so the steadier 25 FPS in sieges and events is part of the Season 22 build from day one. The 60+ FPS client is planned for later. It has no date yet, and we will announce it in the news when it is ready. The client itself goes up on the download page once it is published.
